Re: "You'll have to ask Robert"

Steve Thomson,
This is very true, but I have to question whether Jimmy was even on
board with this new band idea we've heard JPJ talk about.

Let's analyze the comments from each of the participants separately.

Jason Bonham, I think we can all agree, would have been up for
anything, whether Robert came along or not.

Myles Kennedy, I think we can all agree, would have loved to be in a
band with the other guys.

John Paul Jones has been on the record talking about we've been
jamming... the odd singer every now and then... couldn't agree on
singers... fell by the wayside... media misreported they were trying
to replace Robert Plant in Led Zeppelin...

Jimmy Page, unless I'm mistaken, has never formally addressed the new
band with a new name with a singer other than Robert Plant. All he did
in addressing speculation last September that Led Zeppelin was
recording was say they weren't actually recording and there wasn't
really anything going on as monumental as people were speculating. He
said Led Zeppelin reunited already, it was the O2 show, it was one
night only, and you can't have Led Zeppelin without four members. Then
he hasn't said much on the topic until just very recently.

And yes, he's focused on 2010, and we are too. Woo hoo! Go Jimmy!

But it's tough to go into the future without knowing the past. What
I'd like to know is if Jimmy really ever had his heart in being in a
band in 2008 and 2009 with John Paul Jones, Jason Bonham and anybody
else on the planet besides Robert Plant. That's the one point that
none of the above characters has addressed.

To me, it seems more and more as though Jimmy never gave Myles Kennedy
(or any other singer on the planet) the time of day, other than an
opportunity to hang around and fill in for Robert. Do you agree,
disagree, or think it's not even worth thinking about since 2010
finally holds the promise of new Jimmy work?
