Re: TCV Musings

Aubrey,

I thank you so much for coming out of lurkdom to poet. Please do so more
often.

EVERYONE PLEASE DO SO MORE OFTEN!!!

OK,

But you said a thing or two that struck a chord with me...

      > I found a need to remain current in order to be relevant as a
musician, maintain a responsibility to my craft and to try and keep my
finger on what was happening at a grassroots level.

Do you have any idea what rifts this has caused in bands I've been in ,
tried to be in and fail to be in?!?!?!?!?!
Or even to be able to get a gig? Heck, it was about 20 years ago that I
splintered from the boys cause it was a battle between playing current
covers or oldies or our own. Of course the last lost ..but doing Huey Lewis
and the News... barf - a - mundo I'm out.

Wish I could join up today and do TCV covers !

> I turn 50 next month, started listening to Zep when I was 10, they
provided the soundtrack for my life, inspired me to become a musician,
yada-yada-yada, probably the same story for most of the folks on here. But
what I have found is the continuous stream of great rock/blues guitar riff
based music that continues to get me as excited as the first time I put Led
Zeppelin II on my stepdads platter, put on the headphones and had my
awakening. Most of it is not found on radio

Amen Brother and point me in the right direction... Since I got XM I am
almost bewilderd by the stuff I'm finding, but would love to hear what you
and other FBO-ers are digging and grooving to, that might as an old farter
interest me!!

Thanks for posting...please do so again and more o and more...
