that's hardly in the spirit of sharing the music. yes, it's because of cash
'incentives' from bootleg labels that we've been able to hear some of the
things we have. however, it's because of that same motivation that we've
had to wait a long to hear some of the things we have, and that some of the
things we've heard are frustratingly incomplete. (why release the *whole*
show when you can sell a fragment, then a larger fragment, then the whole
version, then the upgraded version, then the definitive version, etc.)

it's also because of greed (ie, what's in it for me) that we haven't yet
heard some of the 'new' sources mentioned recently on list. we'll hear them
eventually i'm sure--eventually being however long it takes to settle a deal
with one of the labels.

as for 'free' music, bring it on. (i've been the recepient of some
incredible kindness from the Zep community in that regard, so perhaps i'm a
little biased.) as a casual collector, i haven't the time, inclination, or
resources to scour the universe for rare/new shows. i'll leave the joy of
finding those gems to the hardcores.

while on the topic, Earl's Court. what was the previous 'best' know
version, and has anyone compared it to the one PGamPS posted to Usenet? (or
would it be silly to think that a significant upgrade would have been made
freely available?)
