I'm not clear what makes you sure, other than good
faith on your part.

If I had some Zep bootleg that's particularly obscure,
and there was no financial incentive to sell out to a
Japanese bootlegger, I'd either keep it to myself, and
know I have something special that others don't have
(I might even tell some people that I have it, just to
let others know), or I'd trade it for other rare
bootlegs in return, on the condition that the other
person doesn't trade it out, so that I can keep it's
trade value high for future high-end trades.

In short, yes, money does help to pry some recordings
out into the open.
