OTHAFA Question

Ok...this may have been asked about or addressed here before, but my 
memory tends to dissipate as the years progress...

Why is that in so many performances of OTHAFA from '73, '75, '77 and 
even '79, Plant begins with the 2nd verse "Many times I've lied..." 
instead of the "Many have I loved....." opening line from the song? I 
had thought for awhile he was just being sloppy, but over the last 
year or so, it seems to be the rule, rather than the exception for 
him on this number.

Anyone have any clue why?
