I should have specified... When I say all trees should be SHN, I don't
necessarily mean with the FTP downloading option. That's obviously
the ideal
way to spread a show quickly (the a.b.s.l-z. newsgroup is good too,
for those
with a decent news server that picks up all posts) but it can't
always be set
up that way. No, what I meant was even our traditional thru-the-mail
trees
should be using SHN format for the seed>superbranch>branch portions,
to
eliminate the risk of error propagation due to bad DAE. Yes, I know
that all
branches should be able to produce perfect clones, but as we know
from past
experience, there's just no guarantee of that, unfortunately.
