Everybody has their own opinions, and I can understand this one. I
never
liked the Dead until a few years ago when I started collecting their
shows.
In my opinion the Grateful Dead were one of the best, if not they
best live
band ever. We're talking about a band that never played the same
setlist
twice-that's why people followed them on tour, a band that really
jammed,
and that could entertain a crowd like no other. They could rock
hard, throw
in "El Paso" or "Mama Tried" and then free-form jazz style. It's
difficult
to describe their style, luckily we have all these pristine soundboard
copies to try.

Please realize that I am a HUGE Zeppelin fan and have been for years,
but
it's like comparing apples to oranges...Zeppelin blew the Dead away
in the
studio, but in my opinion the Dead were the better live band.
Besides it's
impossible to compare Zep to the Dead to U2 to GnR, etc.
