Bill,

This was the best post I've read in a long time.  And what makes it good
is you separated the songs themselves from *how* they were shaped in the
studio pretty well.

I've always thought that "Led Zeppelin" was the most dated sounding of the
whole canon, myself.  But you can tell the difference in production from
that album and "II" immediately.

Again, really nice post...
