Re: runnin' with the devil

Paul thank you very much for your interest and help sussing this out

When you mentioned Franny in your original reply I looked him up and the
first vid that I watched happened to be Goofin Around

Not knowing the song I figured from the title that a little bit of
everything was going to be in it

It was great
It led me to listen to plenty of Franny Beecher that's available on the net

Bill Haley and his Comets were an obvious influence and required
learning / covering for any of the late 50's early 60's aspiring Brit groups
and
Frannys playing was a direct influence on the guitarist

JP played on See You Later Alligator during his sessions days
for Wayne Gibson and The Dynamic Sounds

However I must respectfully disagree that at :43 of Goofin Around is the
same as what JP plays in the boogie section of WLL

Perhaps it could be argued that JP may have embellished and enhanced the
FB lick
or thought "what would Franny do?"
but to my ears they're too dissimilar in this case

I also was listening to a lot of Joe Maphis and Larry Collins
thinking it might have been something they played but couldn't find it
