And I'm not even going to get in to the Pink Floyd argument. I will only say this: Roger Waters solo tour = Pink Floyd. David Gilmour's Roger Waters-less version of Pink Floyd = good, but not nearly as great as Roger Waters solo (and then there's Gilmour playing his solo stuff with some classic Floyd mixed in, which I will also call great)
Ah but it's all a question of taste. I though Waters live was just a morose, brooding, self-congratulatory bore but Floyd without him was still Floyd minus the bad vocals. Yes, I know he wrote the better songs, but as an overall listening experience, the post-Waters Floyd was fine with me and with most people I know. Then again there are those who feel anything post Syd is not Floyd, just as there are Stones dans who feel nothing done since Brian Jones left is valid (I listened to Voodoo Lounge this afternoon and thought it was tremendous).
