My 2.
ROFL. Well put. I continue to drop by manicmenopause every now and then
to have a laugh at how pathetic the gal who runs it really seems. It's
almost entertaining to guess which responses to her comments are really
other people and which ones are probably her posing as others. As I
believe Teleri has pointed out, all you need to do is bring up Jimmy's
name and she freaks out, dropping the censorship axe without mercy. If
you look around her forum, there are a couple of examples where
well-meaning fans of Robert who view his whole career as important and
not just everything non-Zeppelin made the mistake of brining Zeppelin or
Page into their comments and she immediately jumps on them.
She claims her site is dedicated to Plant's entire solo career and
includes glowing coverage of his collaboration with Krauss, but of
course there's nothing about his 90's collaboration with Page. If she
really had such respect for Plant the solo artist, she would cover the
Page-Plant years as a unique collaboration just as the one with Krauss,
the way Plant himself did, and not as an extension of Led Zeppelin. In
fact, her treatment of it reinforces the notion that she really does
hate Page for whatever reason she may have. Hmm, maybe she encountered
his rumored whips back in the 70's or something. ;-)
The most laughable recent development was her attack on John Paul Jones
at the end of October for making the comment that Robert Plant no longer
wants to make loud music. She took it as being condescending and an
attempt by JPJ to "lessen Robert." All one has to do is watch the video
footage of Jonesy making the remark and realizing he was just making a
friendly, honest comment and not trying to be clever.
