I just noticed that John Davis of Alchemy Mastering,
who remastered Mothership, has joined the Hoffman
forum today. He mentioned that he would have liked to
have mastered Zeppelin from the original master tapes
but time constraints meant he was only able to work
with Jimmy on remastering the Mothership tracks from
original Sony 1610 digital copies of the master tapes
made in 1992! He mentioned that he will hopefully get
a chance next year to master from the original 1/4"
master tapes and copy them using 24-bit/192kHz
equipment (as opposed to the 1610's 16-bit/44.1Khz).
Not only is this good news since the 1610 is
considered ancient by today's standards, but it also
means there are likely plans to redo the catalog again
using more modern technology.

New web site, new DVDs, maybe new reissues. Great to
see so much continued Led Zeppelin activity.
