This is the first I've heard of a lawsuit over BMS, although it's not the 
first time I've heard someone *claim* that they sued Zep or Jimmy (with 
nothing to substantiate that claim).

Besides, Jansch didn't even write the song -- he got it from Anne Briggs, 
who had gotten in from either A.L. Lloyd or Stan Ellison, who may have 
gotten it from Paddy & Mary Doran c. 1952.  A version by Winnie Ryan may 
pre-date the Doran version.

Either way, the song is older than Bert Jansch himself, so he's got no 
claim to sue.
