Thanks for all the responses I got about the strings etc....after just
reading a couple of posts...I suddenly remembered that when I first started
playing guitar....well electric guitar.....I used EB 9's.....and used them
for awhile til I got the whole "bending" thing down etc.....plus my action is
real low...and it was just easier for me on barre chords etc.....but ya the
tone suks...and they slip easily etc....and Page is out of tune alot.....as
my hand strength increased I switched around trying various gauges etc.....I
like the heavier strings personally, the rich deep tone you can get with
them....ahhhhhh....Someone said something about Pages
acoustic....strings...now that I have never even thought of...since I have 2
acoustics, but neither one are a "Page" type style whatever....one is a
yamaha fg-75, very nice little guitar...and apparently wanted by ever music
store I take it to...but doesn't have the sound I really need or want for
certain ZEP songs....I put heavier gauge strings on it, to practice and gain
my strength....however....not many Zep songs sound to good on it...(perhaps
it's the player ;) My acoustic version of TYG sounds alright, and OTHAFA
pretty good too...anyways...enough of my rambling....THANKS...TO ALL who
responded. Apparently I DO NOT want to go back to EB 9's, since I used them
in the first place, and IMHO I also think they are only good for beginners!
Rock and Ramble on...Have a safe 4th...seeing as how last night I was popping
black cats in my drive, when the entire fire brigade showed up at my
neighbors house...UGH....I thought HELL they are only firecrackers....luckily
nothing I did...so with that......Party on Zep Heads...
Play on
