Official live releases discussions

In addition to Pearl Jam releasing those CDs, the Black Crowes did something 
a little bit different recently.  If you bought their Lions album, you got a 
user name and password to download A show.  A good idea, even if it is a 
single show.  However, I've hardly ever had it work, as in logging in etc, 
so that sucks.  Also apparently the files are in WMA format.  What is with 
this format? Is it a lossy one?
