It really was Mr. T, who played drums on a few songs.  (I have no idea if
he had any actual drumming skills!)  There were a whole bunch of "special
guests" who sat in on various songs that day, including Pat Benatar,
Christopher Cross, the Oak Ridge Boys, and John Stamos.

The entire show was professionally filmed, although I don't know how much
of the footage (if any) was ever aired.
