You have discovered digital copy protection! Professional grade machines
usually disable this, but they are also usually more expensive. Computer
extraction programs generally ignore this. The same restrictions apply to
DAT and MD. I am not sure about DV audio or DCC. Not that anyone ever uses
DCC.
