The target audience of the music industry is the 16 year old and,
let's admit it, the average 16 year old has no clue who Jimmy Page
is. But,
they love Aerosmith.

*Emerges from lurkdom*
As a 16 year old girl who loves Led Zeppelin, I have to say that I
know many
kids my age who know exactly who Jimmy Page is. Of course, the ones
who
listen to pop music don't, but they wouldn't have known who Jimmy was
if
they had been teens during the 60s and 70s. I guess my point is that
Aerosmith is now a pop band, (gag) something that Zeppelin never was.
And I
think turning the radio to the nearest pop station will prove the
fact that
talent is not necessary in the music industry anymore...in fact, it
seems
that the bands who completely lack talent make more money that the
others...but that's another rant. So there's your answer, Aerosmith
makes
money because it's a pop band and it only relies on marketing to sell
its
music. I'll go back to my dark corner now. G'day.
