U2

While we are off topic, I'll just throw in my 2 cents worth (or
.01242 cents
after inflation). U2 has had a few very good albums and one truly
great
album - Achtung Baby which I think is one of the 25 best all time
albums (ok
opinions vary). While I don't think they can compare to the great
classic
rock bands they do have their moments. Also they are the only band
in the
last 20 years that can claim 'greatness' as defined as the ability to
sell
tens of millions of albums and book stadiums if they so choose. The
only
single act stadium shows to come through my city in the last decade
have
been the likes of the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, the Eagles, the
Who
etc. and U2. I love the Black Crowes, Sheryl Crow, Beck, Radiohead
and some
of the other bands of the last 10 or 20 years but they just don't
have the
superstar draw. But hey then again Garth Brooks sold 100 million
albums so
what the f$#% does the public know about good music anyway. ;)
