I so disagree. To a point. U2 were one of the most original and
formidable musical acts of the '80's, and certainly a band that will 
go
down as one of the greats. However, they started believing their
publicity after "The Unforgettable Fire", and started wholesale 
sucking
after "The Joshua Tree". I've had many an argument with a co-worker of
mine about the dearth of quality material after "Joshua Tree".
Everything from "Rattle And Hum" to the present makes me nauseous.

I was a HUGE U2 fan in the early '80's, and I still think the material
holds up. Everything after "The Joshua Tree", which is no great 
shakes,
is pretentious piffle. IMHO.
