Rambled Underfoot

1. Ah yes, here I go again. I hope this post ends up getting some
controversey. Will it? I don't know......I don't even know what the
content ahead is as I type this.

2. Some points regarding the 48 hours discussion- the boy was quoted as
saying that it was the best weekend of his life but she messed with his
head- how is this twised? How can you say that his story contradicts
itself? Reminded me of a time when I was sorta in this relationship with
this girl.....more an obsessed fan really, she called me up on the college
radio station all the time, we started hanging out a lot, then we were in
a relationship- well so I thought, until she revealed to me that she was
already engaged to this guy she'd been with for like 2 years. Then during
the short period of time after that these things that were happening
continued until it just stopped.......It was nice while it lasted, loved
every minute of it and I ahted every minute of it. It was a very
uncomfortable situation for me and not something I really wanted to be
part of. But I still loved it in a way (of course what guy doesn't like
getting some?). I completely understand what he meant by what he said.

It's really weird to think that the 48 hours people couldn't have NOT
noticed the Led-Tuna picture on the licence plate page immediately above
the picture of that woman....I wonder if they made any comments about that
to each other. They should have slipped in a picture of the LED-TUNA plate
just for the hell of it. They didn't even give Bruce credit or ask his
permission to steal a photo off his web site>??!?!?!?!?!? Bruce, sue them,
get some money! Use the money for FBO! We need some FBO T-Shirts!!!!

2. THat's a great idea.......remember back in the days before the downfall
of DG Pouya jumped up and did up some DG T-Shirts for us all.....that was
really cool......it has been a few years now and we have a lot of new
FBO'ers. Is there a general interest in getting some new T-Shirts made for
FBO? I'll volunteer the effort unless someone else has better connections
with some screen printing company.....Does this seem like an interesting
idea to anyone? If someone has connections to T--Shirt people that would
be much better....but hell, if no one does I volunteer to do this. Ain't
been organizing any jam sessions so I gotta do something for the zep
community. Consider it pubic service. Errr... public service :)

3. Ah...what happened between Robert and JPJ? Well, no one really knows,
although it is speculated that Robert wanted his son-in-law, Charlie Jones
to the bassist for the Page/Plant reunion tour. The sad thing is JPJ found
out about the Page/Plant "No Quarter" special and their reunion in the
newspaper.(Even worse NQ is JPJ's signature tune). The special aired in
October (?) of 1994, the CD came out November 8, 1994 (23 years after the
fourth album came out). Led Zeppelin were inducted into the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame in January of 1995. Page made a brief speech, Plant when on
and on about hanging out with Jefferson Airplane and Moby Grape and how
cool his life has been bla bla bla then JPJ got up there and looked at the
two of them and said "First off, I'd like to thank you, my friends, for
finally remembering my phone number...." the crowd cheered and Robert had
this look in his face that was so classic.....

4. "Blender" magazine (never heard of it) did a poll to see who it's
readers considered the sexiest stars of all-time. Robert Plant was #5, and
was the first male on the list (!) Britney, J-Lo, Maddonna, and Deborah
Harry were the top 4. Following Plant were Mariah Carey, Beyonce Knowles
(?), Elvis, Prince and #10 was Tina Turner. Other rockers on the list:
11: Mick Jagger 16:Marianne Faithful 17) Axl Rose 19) Jim Morrison 23
Jaycob Dylan 27) Sting 29) Iggy Pop 37) David Bowie 38) Tommy Lee 42)
Bryan Ferry 47) Nancy Wilson 48) Stevie Nicks and 50) Linda Rondstat. NO
BEATLES M<ADE IT TO THE LIST. Neither did Steve Tyler or Rod Stewart.....

5. Jimmy does seem to be acting strange in that video clip for the
Montreaux show, the rubbing of his face especially. I EXPECT that when I
see Michael J. Fox, but it kinda makes me unfomfortable to see Jimmy that
fidgety....

6. Even a better thought then Led Zeppelin making music for "Monty
Python/Holy..." since Pink Floyd Collaborated with them they should have
gotten together. Can you imagine Gilmoure and Page trading licks? Plant
and Waters singing harmony? We are talking two of the best bands from the
70's here and they could have made one hell of a collaboration! Maybe they
did and THAT is in the vaults. Hell even if they were just doing "The
Lumberjack Song" it would still be great!

7. All this talk about midnight movie showings, wish I lived somewhere
other then Maine where there actually were midnight movies. In this neck
of the woods (especially Bangor) the only thing open at midnight are the
bars and 7-11.

8. Post of the week goes to kat about the stupid concert posters, and her
orgasmic post about seeing TSRTS for the first time.....the two tied each
other. The Bob Dylan poster from 1966 on Ebay that lists Zeppelin sharing
the bill was sold for.......wait...there were no bids. and it is closed!

9. Welcome abck of the week- Richard Allcock......long time no
see.......so many names have been re-merging from the old days....

10. Whoa Peter Grant was in Blind Faith???!?!?!?! Details, details!!!

11. OK- I see this mentioned all the time, Mr. Mixer does not hang out in
newsgroups because he does not like the BS in those lands...I've been a
net geek for years but have slacked and stopped being a know it
all.....WHAT THE HELL IS A TROLL??????

12. Wow a post from Julia Quests...... Ironically Julia was the first
DG'er that I ever met......at Zepfest 96, got into the shuttle to take us
to the hotel, and it was me and Julia and a couple others....that was
really cool. Welcome back Julia, if you left, if you didn;t leave, glad to
see you posting again!

13. Why is VH-1 Classic showing that generic WLL video that they obviously
put together themselves? Why don't they show the one from a few years back
when WLL was re-releaseed as a single? It had Jonesey doing that funky
dance in it.....along with Robert.

14. Speaking of Robert- Hqppy Birthday! THe playlists on WKIT will be
affected by his birthday.....not just till 5 AM but all day....I guarentee
that either for 30 mintuies at 3:30 PM or for an hour at 8PM it will be
all Robert stuff.....so feel free to tune in online and make some
suggestions at 800-287-1003 to Scotty Moore at 3:30 or Dave Isaac at 8. It
will probably be one of the two, NOT BOTH.....so don't come up and call
the DJ and yell at him because they're not playing Zep.....and if they
don't at all, don't blame them or me, this is speculation! What they do on
their shifts are their business.....

15. Since when did Neil Diamond fans do bad things? They don't do anything
bad, they are all good people!!!

16. Life would be much easier if the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame hadn't
have broken into my house and stolen my dragon suit and claimed it was
Jimmy's....it was Jimmy's, but MINE TOO

17. I still say Zepgirly sounds cute, just for the name Zepgirly. And
she's a new englander so that's even better. Kat kicks ass too. Love to
see these young female zep fans everywhere....especially ones whose name
is not JESS KUTCH. (if you don't know don't ask.....PLEASE)
