What's this ? EVERYBODY knows that JIMI's Fillmore 1970 Machine Gun is
the most.....on second thought, JIMI didn't "do" solos, He did
"symphonies", so that's a whole other catagory. Alex Lifeson called the
"solo" in All Along The Watchtower AM/FM radio's finest moment so it's
good to see it up there. I would have to say that Pagey's finest hour is
in "Achilles". I also believe that the Greatest Solos of All Time are
found on live recordings as opposed to "constructed" studio work. How
can you do "magic" hidden behind 2 or 3 soundproof barriers as opposed
to on stage, feeding on the intense emotional energy of communicating a
message, a feeling, to a group of people ?
