Ok, I see all this WIC -vs- Zooma stuff, but how come nobody ever mentions
C/P. I mean come one...this CD could have followed Presense as far as
technique, style and shear ROCK goes. I can understand people not liking
David Coverdale, or his tongue in cheech sexual innuendo, but
seriously...this is one of the best fat out rockers around. Shake My Tree
(opening riff from ITTOD sessions I believe) is fantastic, Don't Leave Me
This Way, excellent heavy blues with as much atmosphere as Tea For One, Over
Now, Whisper A Prayer....etc. I mean there are crappy tunes too, like
Feeling Hot, but whay can't these guys have fun??
The Tour: I have heard a number of excellent DAT boots and seen one
video...wow, excellent show. The set was graet and I thought David did a
great job with the Zep tunes. Kashmir was fantastic as was In My Time of
Dying albeit David could have dropped the "oh my Jesus" part. The little
acoustic set with pagey sitting down was cool, sort of 77ish. And Coverdale
did not take away from Page...he made Page the star of the shows, as he
should be.
So I cannot understand all the talk of WIC and Zooma and the disregard for
C/P. I don't think it is fair to dicount a project simply because of
Coverdale's involvement. I think David was great for Jimmy. Pagey's playing
on C/P IMO is the best since Presense, and better than No Quarter or WIC.
I would seriously welcome C/P 2 or a CD with unreleased C/P work. At least
it would ROCK!!!
Ok...let the killing begin!!
