No, that's not what I meant at all.  (I being the only panty-wadder on this
subject. :))  What I've understood JPJ's stance to be (and I of course could be
wrong) is not a "disavowing of the Zeppelin era", but more like wanting to
leave it in the past, and not attempting to relive or tarnish anything.  There
is an association here with the rune that is even more, umm, nostalgiac than
just saying "John Paul Jones, legendary bassist of Led Zeppelin".

Yes, I've always felt that JPJ is one of Zep's biggest fans.  He accepts awards
on their behalf (eg. AMA), will always be at any reunion ceremony (Atlantic,
Hall of Fame), and is the leader in the movement to keep Zeppelin remembered as
the greatest four-man rock group ever (sometimes it seems to me that Page and
Plant think it was a two-man show).  

(shrug)  Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see what happens... if he does
use the rune, hopefully someone will ask him the reasons behind it, because at
least one of us is baffled.
