Last week someone was asking if Jimmy was the first ultimate rock star
and then Theolyn mentions Anita P.
The real first rock star, the rock star of the 60's, was Brian Jones of the
Stones
The premier rock star of the 70's, you guessed it, Jimmy
Anyway, 65-68 Brian was the first bonafide rock star, the
multi-instrumental force behind the Stones. His mate at the time, Anita
Pallenberg, a tall blonde mysterious woman from germany. The "Ruby Tuesday"
herself. The two of them, androgynous, chic, splitting images of each
other, the rage of London.
Things self-destructed for Brian when drugs took over and Anita left him in
Morroco for Keith. A year later the love triangle would reach out to
Jagger, who's onscreen love scenes with Anita in Performance were that and
much more. Brian was forced out of the band and would soon be found dead.
Anita was heavily into the occult and even funded several of Kenneth Anger's
films. Jimmy probably met Kenneth through the Stones inner circle, and
probably somewhere along the line came in contact with Anita. Anita came
under the authorities when some young man was found dead in her bed in the
late seventies of mysterious causes. Keith never turned back after that...
If Joni is any indication, Jimmy was a little bowled over by sophisticated
feline personas. Hey no hangups with the likes of Miss Pamela and the GTOs.
And Anita would certainly have fit the overwelming strongly driven woman
role. So who knows...
