Dear Badgeholders,
Recently I have found a CD recorder by Philips "CDR870" at some AV
outlet in Hong Kong. The price is about US$480. The catch copy is
"Make your own CD", "Send your own CD with love song to your love",
something like that.
I guess, if you have this one, you don't need to be worried about
memory, further equipment, and life span of your PC as discussed in
this list for a while. And a blank CD costs US$1.50-2.00, and is a
bit cheaper than a Maxell XLII (USD2.00-2.50) and much cheaper than a
DAT (US$5.00-6.00). Seems that CDR is very easy and attractive.
Of course, I am not a PR manager of Philips ( I am using its shaver
though) and I have not yet decided to buy it. I just would like to
know if this model has been popular in the rest of the world. Please
give me any info, reputation, and your opinion.
All the best,
Muneo
PS. I am very sorry that tape trading is now a sensitive matter in the
States, while anything goes in Hong Kong.
All the best,
Muneo
