I tried to make the same point that Jay made a few days ago. Perhaps we
should look at a new name. In the selection on names, we can screen out
names. Perhaps a solution would be to select a new list of possible names
and then have 3 or votes until 50% plus 1 vote agrees on a new list name.
Sort of the way we do political party leadership votes here in the GWN.
When sceening names acceptable for a list title, we should allow people rule
out names for the vote if they can justify the list name as being a problem
to them.It would be simple, people like myself and the other fanzine editors
could request titles of our fanzines to be taken off the list. If there are
people who are sensitive to other titles such as a vegetarian not liking the
list to be called "Hot Dog", we can rule out those choices. Certain members
of Women's rights groups may not like the list called "Living Loving Maid"
The point is if a revote is to be made, let's make sure the names are
suitable and OK with everyone before they vote.
