Being a disc jockey at a classic rock radio station I feel that I can field
your inquiry about stations playing the P/P version over the original.
Actually, our station has never played the P/P version.  The only thing from
No Quarter we play is Gallows Pole, Kasmir and Nobody's Fault.  I know some
other stations around here played about every cut of the redone originals
for about a two week rotation.  We kept those three songs on our playlists
for about eight weeks before we went back to the original versions.  The
only tune for NQ we play anymore is Kashmir.  As for why a station would
completely replace the original with the P/P version, well their program
director must have moved from dope to the heavier stuff!!
