Some thoughts on the shows I just got

1. Blueberry Hill 9/4/70- What is there to say. Nice sound and a good
performance from what I've heard of 70. Whole Lotta Love is one of my
favs along with Communication Breakdown and its medly of For What Its
Worth and Good Times Bad Times. Bring It On Home just absolutely rocks
and Robert sounds like he was shot with 1000 watts during Dazed. A good
night for all
I give this a A-

2. 11-24-71 Free Trade Hall; Manchester, England- I had big hopes for
this one but find the sound a bit annoying. A good performance of Whole
Lotta Love with a unusual Hello Mary Lou squeezed in. Now theres Dazed
and Confused. This Dazed and Confused left me just that confused
afterwards. I couldn't find the Shaft Instrumental but after a few
listens I found it to be pretty good even without Shaft(can you dig
it??)
I give it a B- overall

3. 3/24/73 Orthenauhalle; Offenburg, Germany- Ahhhh the European tour of
73 one of Zeps best times. Dazed and Confused during this whole tour
ROCKS. The last performance of the tour(I believe someone correct me if
thats wrong) and one of my favs. Mine comes straight from the vinyl and
sounds really good. Roberts vocals during Misty Mountain Hop are sorta
lost behind Bonhmas drumming and Jimmys guitar but I still like it
besides the few fadeouts. (Thanks Larry)
I give this a B+

4. 4/23/94 Alex Korner Tribute Derby England- My first real taste of P/P
and I like it. Train Kept a Rollin rocks and I Can't Quit You Babe
sounds just like the old. After chants of the Rovvvverrr You feel like
you are actually there when you vlose your eye. Very Atmospheric and
very nice sound only wish more could have been played.
I give this a B+

5. 11-16-71 St. Matthew's Baths; Ipswitch, England- hmmmm a new show
that has great sound, you notice how this keeps happening ala Hot August
Night, PG outtakes. I absolutely love this show. Immigrant Song and
Dazed and Confused Rocks. Heartbreaker is one of my favorite live songs
and when me and my dad were in the car he started singing
along(something that only happens when BTO or Boston is on). Icing on
the cake is a great Whole Lotta Love medly.
My grade is a A-

6. 5/17/72 Memorial Coliseum; Portland, Oregon- all I had to say was
AHHHHHH get it away. The performance was really good its just I couldn't
stand the sound.
My grade is D+

Thank heavens the flame wars are over
