I had the same thoughts about this as well. I think the reason JPJ was left out
was do to Robert not wanting to work with JPJ. I think that JPJ and JP still
get along well ( I think he has even said that publicly, he and Jimmy
still talk on a regular basis).
When the R&R Hall event was aired they showed them back stage
getting ready to play ( this is when they were cutting to a commercial).
Jonesy was all worried about what they were going to play and that he
hadn't played these song in a long time. It was Jimmy who was all relaxed and
happy and he kept telling Jonesy not to worry, you'll be just fine you know what
to do, were gonna play a little of this and then were gonna play this.
It appeared that Robert didn't want to give Jonesy the time of day, let alone
let him in on what was going on.
I think in Jimmy's defense, he wanted to play with Robert again and figured that
if he had to leave out Jonsey, then it really wasn't a big deal. Unfortunately
Jonesy didn't feel the same way.
