Re: Legends Special on VH1

I found Mr. Tyler to be an amicable host. Certainly he's a fan which is
much better than some narrator lacking enthusiasm. As for the show itself,
it appeared hurried to me and this showed through Mr T's delivery. I
believe it would have been better had it been done over a two hour time
slot. In which case they could have played a few complete tracks.
Certainly it was informative, but without any previous knowledge of the
music I would have found it hard to get a _feel_ for the band, IMO. I
would have much rather seen a time-line segment packaged together with a
complete track from the same period - (Ding)! Nonetheless, it's still nice
to see VH1 put this together and will no doubt make a nice addition to the
Legends catalog :)

BTW, how about that Starship description? Perhaps those VH1 producers
should have tuned in a few episodes of A&E's Weekday Wings. A Boeing 727 -
doh! As I close my eyes I can hear Sir Peter Ustinov: "The Boeing 707 was
developed in 1954. Originally nicknamed the Dash-80, it was developed in
secrecy as a direct competitor to the ill-fated British Comet..."

Cheers,
Pete
