Me again,
good thing I spent that time last night correcting some of the lyrics
for The Girl I Love, someone beat me to it by about a day. :( I still have
a couple of things to offer...
The Girl I Love
1 Whoah, the girl I love
2 She got long black wavy hair
3 I do declare
4 The girl I love, yeah
5 She got long black wavy hair
6 Hey yeah
7 Her mother and her father, lordy
8 They sure don't, sure don't allow me there
9 Well I, I'm going back to my baby Lord I
10 I swear I wouldn't lie, yeah
11 I never saw that sweet woman yeah in-a
12 A-five long years gone by, yeah
13 Well I'm goin' ho__me, I'm goin' home
14 But/'Cause she's a sweet little darling, ah
15 I said/feel I been away ah-for/far too long
16 I been away too long
17 Take it Jimmy/Shake it for me
18 Well, my baby when...
19 She shakes just like a willow tree
20 Yeah she does
21 My baby, when she walks, ya know
22 She shakes like a willow tree, yeah
23 Ah-that mean, mistreatin' baby she know she
24 Hop, hops all over me
25 Oooh~ah
26 Yeah
27 Alright
28 ???
Line: Thoughts/Changes/Corrections:
8 I think it's 'allow me there'.
14,15 Undecided at the moment, although it has to be one of the listed
possibilites, don't you think?
17 While it sounds like 'Take it Jimmy' (due to the hard sound of the
't' in take), I can't recall Robert ever spurring Jimmy into a
solo like this.
18 Slight change, nothing too significant
23 mistreatin' baby ... as opposed to 'mistreater' that Darwin(?) had
24 isn't there some boot where Robert sings about being 'hopped all
over' or perhaps an old blues cliche he's borrowing?
Bye!
Chris
