CD-R (help needed)

I recently purchased a Phillips CD-R drive and I need help.  I'm running 
A Power Macintosh and I want to make CD's of my boots.  The only problem 
is My whole collection of boots are on cassette.  I have DECK II and 
SOUND EDIT 16 but I'm not sure how to convert the sound files into the 
format needed to make music cd's.  I;ve heard of a file called "Red Book" 
but neither DECK II or SE 16 supports this file type.  Any help on this 
matter would be greatly appreciated.
