Plant's marriage

>Actually, to digress, I'm still hung up on the comment ole Peter Grant
said during some interview which was aired on Canada's Much Music
Special.
Robert was going on and on to Peter Grant about being in love with two
women at the same time (sisters) and what should he do? Peter said,
"marry the
pregnant one!"

I believe that Cole has misconstrued the facts/quote. I don't believe
that
Robert was married to Maureen during the "Band of Joy" days. Perhaps
they were dating or engaged? I believe that Robert and Maureen were
married
in the earliest days of Zep [and I don't know if she was pregnant at the
time].

Love,

First, sorry about the email goof up that stretched out Jean's words in
my last post, don't know what happened there!
Plant and Maureen were married in 1968, the same year Carmen was born.
He had originally been dating Maureen's sister Shirley, who remains an
important character in his life, and this situation led to the many
'sister' references throughout his songs. After his dad pretty much
threw him out of the house because of his hippy ways, Maureen and
shirley's family took him in and gave him a home, and Maureen worked to
support him for many years while he developed his music career.
Maureen's pregnancy was a strong deciding factor in which sister became
Mrs. Plant. Just for curiosity's sake- Maureen in later years was very
happy in a relationship with someone much younger, Ian Hatton, who had
been in Jason Bonham's band.
