Re: Led Zepagain - Seattle, WA 1/29/11

OK first off, Steve great show, I was standing center stage front center. I really wanted to hang out and meet you face to face but we stood up for 4 hours and the gang I was with were a little tired of standing, once the show was over I think we were all SPENT.........It was truly a great show, honestly the best tribute band I have ever seen. Please tell everyone what a great job they did.

Second, as soon as the first blast of drums, bass and guitar hit me in the front row I was BLOWN AWAY, you guys have the sound down.
Third, Thanks for playing The Rover, awesome.
Moby Dick was un FRACKING believable.
Stairway, solo was fan freaking tastic.
Achilles Last Stand WOW!!!!!
Really truly you guys clicked, connected with the crowd and I was physically spent at the end, it was so much and so good, I needed a shower.......

Anyone that was in Seattle for this show, it was great, anyone who missed it. Don’t next time and THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME, right steve. Seattle is a huge zep fan base, tons of young kids.

So my friends came with me and they are not huge fans and they thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

Thanks again Steve keep on rocking love the wig by the way that was way cooooool.......

Hey All,

I just wanted to drop a quick note and share how amazing Led Zepagain was last night at The Showbox in Seattle. It was my first time seeing this group and despite reading all the positive reviews about them, I was still blown away at how accurate of a portrayal they create doing Zeppelin live. For those that haven't caught them yet, it will be well worth your time and money. Comparing these guys to the JBLZE which I caught in November, these guys just blew them out of the water!

Below, I've posted some of my personal set highlights which I e-mailed to Steve Z earlier. I guess it can serve as a mini-review of their blazing show last night to a packed house. Enjoy.

Back to the concert though!

First of all, what a set list you guys have developed! It was a fantastic representation of Zeppelin's whole catalog from including a energetic and fresh "Good Times Bad Times" to a seasoned version of "In the Evening." Like Robert used to say before "Over the Hills and Far Away" in '75 "it's like a pinch of the best." Some personal highlights for me were:

"The Rover" - you just absolutely nailed Jimmy's raunchy tone with some very tasteful use of phase shifter. It's a shame that Zeppelin never got more mileage out of that song live because I think it embodied so much of what the group was about, pure pomp and strut. "The Song Remains the Same/The Rain Song" - It blew me away how you and Swan just floated around the stage mimicking such classic Jimmy and Robert poses. "Bron-y-Aur Stomp" was a great way to get the crowd going with the acoustic set. Just like Zeppelin, you guys understand that just because it's acoustic, it can still rock. The guy behind me was screaming at the top of his lungs "STRYDER" throughout the whole song. "The Bow Solo" was amazing to see live and I thought it was executed perfectly. I was going nuts every time you tapped it across the bridge and just a few more strands from the bow broke loose, just like in "The Song Remains the Same." "In the Evening" really reminded me what a powerful song it could be when played live. I think that you, Swan and the Jims have developed it further than Zeppelin was ever able to during it's brief tenure with them during the twilight of their career. "Achilles Last Stand" had me going bonkers as I had of forgotten that you guys like to play that. It was certainly the song that separated the casual from the die-hard fan, but it serves as a testament to the way that Zeppelin could unleash the hammer of the gods live. "Heartbreaker" was just absolutely sick and your interplay with the crowd during the solo was priceless. The segue from that into... "Whole Lotta Love" really grooved. The Jims created a rock solid bass line as you guys led into...
"The Crunge" which setup a flawless Theramin solo.
"Hot Dog" was a crowd pleaser and I couldn't stop laughing at the eight or so people that were square-dancing on the floor toward the back of the house.

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I think my girlfriend finally understands my obsession with Led Zeppelin for which I am eternally grateful to you guys for. Of all the Zeppelin related shows I've been to in the last sixteen years, I've NEVER seen a crowd go that wild for live Zeppelin. I would say the energy level was on par with the crowds I was in for Page and Plant in both '95 and '98 but possibly more so. I will certainly catch you if and when you come back to Seattle and most likely will travel to see you guys again when my scheduling allows. I just can't tell you how much I think you guys fucking nailed it (even if you couldn't play "Ten Years Gone") just kidding. Thank you!
