While not nearly to the proportions of the Who we had similar
experience for the Firm in 84 or 85 or so..general Admission at the
Jacksonville Coliseum and we got there hours early to sit at the front
doors and made the mad dash to the front of the stage when they let us
in. We sat around and bullshat with other fans while waiting for the
show but when the lights went down there came a crush to the stage
that pinned me and my wife and the couple we were with to the barrier
so hard we could barely breathe - and we stayed there for about 3
songs before the girls decided they couldn't take it any longer (I was
right under the Jimmy splash zone and would have stayed all night had
it just been me) so my friend turned and started waving his arms and
hollering "SHE'S GONNA THROW UP!!! MOVE YOUR FUCKING ASSES!!!" and we
felt like the Lord had parted the Red Sea as we sauntered to the back
of the arena and up into the seats for the rest of the night.

The threat of a big girl (and she was not just wide but tall) throwing
up can move oceans of people...
