Get The Led Out 1/14/11

Another Friday night in the dead of the cold New England winter, yet I had the
pleasure of sharing an evening of Zep Tunes performed Live, by Get The Led Out.
The show was held in a nice, warm, and very comfortable auditorium at the U of
Fairfeild, CT, just an hour outside of NYC.
I am enamored with the way these guys recreate so much of the depth that J.Page
created for these songs, there is very little missing when Get The Led Out
plays. (re; the Page & Crowes "Live At The Greek".)
There is no "jamming", just "the songs", the way you know them.
The right tools for the right sounds, the Fender bass, (Makin' the Scene with
the great big green) Ludwig drums, and the collection of guitars used impresses
me to no end, various Telecasters (one with a B-Bender), and Les Pauls, a
Strat, a Danelectro, a Gibson double neck, a SG 12 string(!), a mondolin,
Martin and Gibson acoustic guitars, and one I couldn't identify. (Yes, there is
a violin bow!)
GTLO plays with the bigger box of crayons, Light and Shade, the colors are
there.,
Having seen Get The Led Out back in November in NYC, I know there are many
songs in their repertoire. There is such a variety of songs played that it's a
struggle to think of which songs were not played, but why bother, (3 of my
favorites were played!), they touch all era's of Led Zeppelin.

Some of the titles played that I can recall are;
In The Evening, Good Times Bad Times, Since I've been Loving You, All My Love,
No Quarter, Dazed And Confused, The Ocean, Bron-Yr-aur, Going To California,
Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, Travelling Riverside Blues, Moby Dick, Wanton Song, Kashmir,
Heartbreaker, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Stairway To Heaven, Black Dog, Whole
Lotta Love.

For me, it's not so much about which songs are played, but how well they are
played, and GTLO plays the songs extremely well.
If you are on the East Coast, USA, "get out of bed, get up and dance, Get The
Led Out!!
