Having seen Jeff Beck in concert this past April, I have to agree with you
that he IS on some other level, seemingly, these days. My sister and I
went, and were totally blown away by him, and also by his band. The bass
player
you are referring to is Tal Wilkenfeld. She is about 23 or 24 now,
Australian, and has toured in the past with Chick Corea. She is AMAZING---and
looks about 12 years old on stage playing that bass!! :)
And having seen JB in concert, I find it INCREDIBLY hard to put him at # 14
on this stupid list. Between JP at #9, and JB at # 14, this list obviously
isn't worth the paper it's written on. LOL! :)

I can't recall who said it, it may have been Jimmy or Eric Clapton, or
possibly someone else, but someone who is in a position to judge with

at
the time when Beck did several nights at Ronnie Scotts last year.
Did anyone catch the Jeff Beck concert they have been playing from time to
time on Paladia? I was completely blown away. I have always liked Jeff's
guitar playing, but this was on some other level from what I have heard
before on various LP's and bootlegs I have acquired over the years. So in
my
unprofessional view this statement above is right on the mark.
They spent quite a bit of camera time on the female bass player too I
noticed. Does anyone know who she is? She is quite young I thought to be
playing with someone of Beck's caliper. I thought maybe it was his
daughter
or something?
