Re; Europe 73

Europe '73 is my favorite tour, also.
Outstanding performances! Led Zeppelin at their best, night after night.
I wish we had an official release of my alltime favorite boot recording, Offenbach '73, so everyone could hear the Mighty Led Zep cruising at altitude. This show just rocks beginning to end. No splices, No alterations, No corrections, No substitutions, just the facts, Jim! I want to hear it just like I was there, with everybody screaming, loud and sweaty! I don't want to hear it in SBD, because I don't want to hear the glaring imperfections. I often find myself laughing at the imperfections of the performance on a SBD recording, and that is kind of sad. Sometimes it could have been better if a show was recorded with better equipment, but it still is rather hard to smuggle a Studer into an arena, or if the audio mix came across a bit better, if JPJones was in the mix, or if we could hear that squeaky Speed King bass drum pedal.

"I don't know how many times I've said it, but my absolute favorite
stretch of shows is the European '73 tour. It's long been my favorite
because of some excellent jamming in "Dazed and Confused." To have
them trotting off into new territory in some places and to have John
Bonham totally rewriting the beat nightly in others, that's just what
I find amazing. Perhaps I just haven't heard enough from the '75 tour
like Trent's talking about. If it can outdo Europe '73, then it's
something I need to hear.

The Grateful Dead put out "Europe '72." I would welcome Led Zeppelin's
"Europe '73" and, yes, partly modeled after Pearl Jam's "Live on Two
Legs." I would also welcome a similar release of best performances
from the '77 tour."
