This was from an interview with their jock Matt Pinfield last year (May 2008)

"It's particularly great for me to come to 101.9 because that was my
favorite station in the late '70s. I remember one night I was working
at a convenience store. I locked the doors at midnight and then
listened to WPIX play all of [the Clash's] 'London Calling' the night
it came out."

Looks to me the jocks there had a big part in programming the final list...
