When I first started uploading this stuff, I used megaupload. For
megaupload, I generally created one or more winzip archives of the .flac
files. To retrieve the music via megaupload:
1. Click on the megaupload link.
2. It will open a page on their site, and request you to enter 3 alpha
characters in a little box. Enter those, and press "download."
3. If you do not have a premium acct, it will start a countdown (25 secs for
free acct. holders and 45 secs. for non acct. holders). Once the countdown
ends, the box will turn gray and say "Free Download." Click the box, and
another box will pop up asking you to open or save the winzip file. Save the
file. Download speeds are usually about half of what your ISP provides.
4. Once you download 1 part, you may have to wait up to 2 hours to be able
to download another. I know, it sucks.
After experiencing continued problems with Megaupload, I decided to switch
to MediaFire. At first, I uploaded all of the tracks individually, because I
thought it would be cool to just download one track to gauge the quality and
determine if one wanted the whole thing. Then one day, I had to download
something I uploaded, and realized what a pain in the ass it was to d/l 20
separate files. So, thereafter, all future uploads were done with equally
split winrar archives (they have a 100 mb file size limit on free accts.).
To retrieve the music via MediaFire:
1. Click on the long MediaFire link. It will take you to a page with all the
files needed to download.
2. Click on the first file (either .flac for individually uploaded tracks or
.rar for winrar archive)
3. Upon clicking it, a new page (or tab) will appear. In the middle of the
left hand side, it
will say "Click here to start download."
4. Click it, and about 5 seconds later a pop up box will appear asking you
to either open or save the file.
5. Save the file, and upon completion, close the new page (or tab) and
return to step 2 for the next file.
**2 Important things**
1. You have to download all of the .rar files before you try to extract the
files. If you don't have winrar, you can download a trial version that works
forever from their website. It says it only works for 40 days, but the basic
functions continue working.
2. Download speeds are much faster with MediaFire, and there is no wait
period for you to continue.
