Re: "I'm not a guitar hero" says Jimmy

Dawn,

Thanks for the link to an excellent interview. Nech, there's no reason to be dismayed. I'd say this is even more indication that Page is making some sort of move musically in 2010. Obviously, he's going to talk about the past, but he's talking very much in the present tense and about an ongoing career, not about one from which he's retired.

I also find the mention of the similarities with the Edge to be interesting as that's exactly what I've always felt and also the feeling I got watching IMGL. Page was always working with guitars, amps and effects and multitracking to create new sounds. The Edge continued on that path in the context of the 80's & 90's. White, on the other hand, does the pseudo blues purist thing and ends up about as exciting as the Eric Clapton approach (yawn).

As for the power trio remark, I think that was more in the context of Zeppelin. He and Plant have both talked about the power of the "three piece" before, referring to the band without the vocals.

As I wrote a couple of days ago, if the new music is in the can, who played on it? Heck we knew about LZ rehearsals a month or so after they happened and long before the O2 announcement.
