But... it also looks like a Sharpie-type marker. Did they have those markers back then? In almost all the photos of authentic Zep signatures I've seen from the early to mid-1970s, they signed in plain ol' ballpoint pen. I may be wrong, but it seems to me Sharpies began to be used for autographs quite a bit later.

Your right! This is another red flag, I don't recall ever seeing their signatures
in anything other then ball point pen.

I have collected many, many autographs myself and always used ball point pen
until the late eighties when blue sharpie and or silver paint pens started being the
pens to use.
