Performers are not at fault for what their fans think...particularly when 
wishful
thinking is the prevailing mindset..

Your entitled to your guess, but the fact is Led Zeppelin had two new releases 
to
promote, neither of which would have done nearly as well without the 02 hype...

That's not the way I look at it. It was originally meant to be a short set 
which evolved into a full blown concert-length performance. Meanwhile, 
Plant/Krauss had
already got an album in the can and a tour lined up. The P/K hype drew to a 
close
with the end of the tour (coincidence? I think not) and he released the 
statement
in response to media speculation. No speculation would have meant no statement.
