John, you should read what I wrote instead of making assumptions. How
does my or the others' expressing anger at Plant for his inconsistencies
constitute an unwillingness to "let it go man"? I've clearly stated that
my preference would be for Plant to work with Led Zeppelin again (I've
made no secret that I'd prefer a new studio album to a tour anyway, but
that's my personal preference). However, if he doesn't want to do so,
say so clearly and quit trading on the Zeppelin name for his own
benefit. Go back to where he was in the 80's, not playing Zeppelin tunes
in concert, distancing himself from Led Zeppelin and actually doing
something creative and new, not retreading 2nd-tier Americana covers
with a bluegrass icon and pretending it's somehow new and cool (Mark
Knopfler did a much classier job of that approach with Emmylou Harris a
year before Plant and Krauss).
And as I wrote before, he should stop the smarmy remarks about the J's
and clearly recognize that the best thing he can do for his friends and
fans, the people responsible for giving him the chance to enjoy the
lifestyle he's enjoyed all these years, is to come out with a strong
statement supporting their efforts to forge ahead with a new singer.
