Classic Albums Live: Houses Of The Holy

Last night I had the opportunity to take in the Classic Albums Live Houses
Of The Holy show at Seminole Paradise in Hollywood featuring FBO's very own
Steve "The Lemon" on the keyboards. What a fan-freakin-tastic show! I don't
have time for a full review but I'll just say that Steve, Nick and the rest of
the band just smoked! Steve seemed like he'd been playing with these guys
forever though it was only his second show. There's some chemistry there.

And while CAL pretty much nailed the HOTH album, the best part for me was
the second "encore" half of the show. Expecting the typical Zep standards
(WLL, STH, etc.) I was blown away by some super cool surprises. First up In
The
Light! Holy Crap Batman! LA Drone type backing with the bow and the squealing
seagull-like keys. OMG! A song or two later Nick brings out some timbales.
What might it be? Fool In The Rain. Wow! And then a totally awesome Moby Dick.
Nick, Steve, JohnnyB, Tom, Dom and Rick, you guys ROCK!

Any South Florida FBOers out there, you owe it to yourself to get to this
show tonight or next weekend. While I can't promise these extras, they've
probably got a couple of ideas up their sleeves. I've got three other concerts
to attend this week but I might just try to squeeze this one in again next
Friday. Also, CAL's extended run at Paradise Live will be ending in a few
weeks
so catch 'em while you can.

Nech, I don't know about a soundboard tape but I did mange to make a
recording of this on my Edirol R09. While not Mike Millard quality it seems
presentable. I haven't listened to all of it yet and it does need some editing.

Maybe it can be offered as part of the TimD series.

Off to see Led Zepplica in fort Pierce tonight...

Peace and Be Cool,
John G.
