A few months ago, friend of mine, Jeff (zepp4life on RO), started
planning a 1 year reunion of the memorable LZ reunion at the 02. Jeff, a
fellow front row mate, put out the info on RO and Facebook and though i
live in Westchester NY and the gathering was in Toronto i wanted to go.
Another front row mate, Dave, who lives about an hour north of me was
dead set on not going..the Canadian border has issues with him. I
finally stopped asking and was feeling down; last year was such an
intense high from September through the the show, i know you ALL know
what i mean!
On this past Tuesday Dave calls and says, "Lets do it". I scramble to
call husband, friends and family to take care of my lil' Zep fan
daughter, Zoe, and cancel some meetings.
I left for Toronto Wednesday morning, at 9am, drove to Kingston, NY,
left my car in the park and ride, and jumped in the car with Dave to
drive North. We did not tell Jeff we were coming up, and we knew he
would take us into his home and welcome us graciously if not joyously.
We drove through rain, sleet and snow and finally go to the border. We
decided the best way was to leave the car and take a train to Toronto
due to the weather, and all the seeds he has scattered about his car..we
couldn't take any chances especially with the border patrol. we walked
over as if we were lovers on a day trip, arm and arm over the bridge. We
got through with no problem, waited an hour for the train and got on
with hope and giddy excitement. The party started at 7pm with time for
chitchat, beverages and other fine things to smoke. We knew we would be
late but as soon as we got off the train, we hopped in a cab made it to
Spadina, just south of Richmond, and found our way
to this cool little theatre down an alley.
We walked in and there were fellow front rowers ( 5 in all!), and many
RO'ers as well as Jeff's very fine friends and acquaintances from
Toronto! We watched KATZED eye version of the show, and we partied there
till about midnight. We all were feeling the buzz of this memorable Led
Zeppelin anniversary. I made so many new friends and got to reconnect
with my LZ friends.
Back to Jeff;s for another little party and we got eventually got back
to the border at 11;30 am, walked across the bridge, back to the car for
some rain, sleet and snow. I got home last night at 8pm feeling a bit
melancholy and satisfied by celebrating the anniversary in such a way
that i needed to celebrate.
If you are on Facebook, i just recently put up my pic's from the
reunion, most are of before the show and sleeping out, my camera broke
as soon as i walked in the arena. There is also a pic of us 5 front
rowers there as well.

I thought you would enjoy my story. On our drive up i was reading from
FBO stories out loud to Dave and hearing about everyone's reliving it
was quite enjoyable and we appreciated it!
