Yes, these were Jimmy's, although reports differ on his actual work. For
example, the 90's remasters were basically him sitting in a studio listening
and offering some suggestions while the actual remastering work was done by
mastering engineer George Marino. Ditto the DVD/HTWWW. He didn't do much of the
technical work but basically worked in the role of a "project manager"
shuttling among five (IIRC) studios to monitor their work, offer suggestions,
and keep an eye on the overall progress. Apparently, Robert was the driving
force behind the remastering/DVD release of No Quarter-Unledded. I've read no
reports on how involved he was with the Nine Lives remasters or the 66 to
Timbuctu compilation.
Nonetheless, you're right, Jimmy did put a lot of effort into these projects so
it's frustrating as a fan to see people perpetuate the myth that he wasn't
active in comparison to Plant, simply because Percy was more visible. It gets
tiring to hear/read these constant comparisons between Page and Plant with the
conclusion that Plant has been busy working and is therefore somehow an
innovator, accomplished, etc. They said that about him in the 80's as well yet
now he tends to belittle or even ridicule that time with comments about
apologizing for it, etc. It gets to be very "flavour of the month."
