What a great story, and a great remembrance, Greg.
We are planning a dedication to Michael at our Led Zepagain gig this
Sat. Have been listening to a lot of P/P shows this past week; what an
incredible loss...

hey gang,
i saw page and plant 13 times during the 1995 and 1998 runs.
five of those shows went along with the zepfest in cleveland in 1998.
on one of the nights in detroit, michael was bashing around so wildly on
rock and roll that he fell off his drom stool. a couple of nights later
in i was in grand rapids trying to track the boys down for some
autographs. through some of the zeppelin friends following the two, i
tracked them to a little pub after the show.
i walked into the pub and immediately ran into michal and the small
group that he was with. he looked at me and gave me the 'cool rock
star' stance. experience has taught me that most rock stars are just
normal folks doing their job, so i looked at him with a big grin and
said 'what the hell happened during rock and roll in detroit'? his
'coolness' melted away and he started laughing and said 'were you there,
did you see that'? his mates asked what had happened and i told them
and the started ribbing him about it. we all had a good laugh about it
and talked about the tour a little bit. i asked him if jimmy was around
as i wanted him to sign a badge that i had made from rainn's artwork.
he said 'he is in the back corner' and i proceed to have a nice exchange
with jimmy, charlie jones and the others with them.
michael was a nice guy and i remember our meeting fondly.
as i said to jimmy that night: 'thanks for the music, it really has
touched my life'
eye thank ewe
