My apologies if this has made the rounds in the past (im sure it must  
have) but i just came across it.

Its a reprint of an interview from Guitar Player magazine from 1977  
along with the audio of the full interview (about 90 minutes)

this link is to an update from 2005 where the author (Steve Rosen)  
provides some background on the interview (he pisses off JPJ and  
effectively gets thrown off the tour prior to the Forum run)
